mr. s:
kiss me: absolutely beautiful pop banger to open this album, upbeat production with electronic and synths, quite a cool sound.
hate that i made you love me: now actually appreciate the song in the album’s context, it also gives space between a lot of big sounds in the album.
petal: she brings back the sing rap here with an alternative rnb sound, thumping but jazzy at the same time. A bit theatrical and rockish.
stay: its like the upbeat version of htimylm with similar sound uses, but its actually catchy this time.
oh well: electronic sounds waves in dubstep beats, another etherial banger.
big feelings: a piano ballad with hard thumping chorus, sweet but also crunchy rnb sound
freak: a soft indie shoegaze track with lovely sounds from guitar, drum.
warning signs: angelic, divine, very simple but so shiny.
like i do: hard hitting beats with edgy sounds. lyrics are petty badass, she make sure they know the sex was good.
never get over me: midtempo rnb with really nice production with all these weird interesting sounds.
bad thing (bunny hop): a happy upbeat song driven by fast beats, guitar and drum, sweet and flirty lyrics
nowhere, nobody: love the way they use the autotune, layering all the vocals and take the song to the peak, it’s really beautiful and etherial, another perfect pop banger.
Her vocal are top-notch as always, and the sounds are more upbeat than I expected, and the cohesive soundscape across all the tracks truly impresses me. The shoegaze elements spotted in almost all the songs, even if it’s pop or rnb, really link them together and bring into the life this beautiful heavenly feeling.
