À medida que a temporada de premiações termina neste fim de semana com o Oscar 2022, o Razzie Awards continua com a tradição e anuncia, um dia antes do Oscar, suas escolhas para o pior filme de 2021.
Depois de receber o maior número de indicações ao Framboesa de Ouro, a versão filmada da Netflix do musical da Broadway da Princesa Diana, Diana, ganhou o maior número de prêmios Razzie, conquistando cinco troféus.
O projeto, cuja produção teatral foi encerrada em 19 de dezembro, ganhou os prêmios de pior filme, atriz, atriz coadjuvante, diretor e roteiro.
O revival da Warner Bros. Space Jam recebeu o segundo maior número de troféus Razzie, três, com a estrela LeBron James nomeado o pior ator. Space Jam: A New Legacy também ganhou o pior par de telas e remake, rip-off ou sequência. De fato, o único dos quatro Razzie Awards para o qual foi indicado, mas não ganhou, é o pior filme.
E os Razzies deram ao indicado ao Oscar Will Smith, que ganhou quatro Framboesas ao longo de sua carreira, o Redeemer Award por seu papel em Rei Ricardo. Em um vídeo que acompanha o anúncio dos vencedores do Razzie, os Razzies celebraram outros candidatos à esse prêmio: Jamie Dornan (Belfast) e Nicolas Cage (Pig). Enquanto Smith terá que esperar até domingo para ver se ele detém a duvidosa distinção de ser um Framboesa e um vencedor do Oscar, o ex-vencedor do Oscar Jared Leto ganhou um Prêmio Framboesa este ano por seu trabalho em House of Gucci.
