Lady Gaga’s extraordinary first-weekend Coachella set has afforded her hit-heavy catalog a streaming boost worldwide—she now has six songs on Spotify’s global Top 200.
You probably know that the Interscope superstar’s duet with Bruno Mars, “Die With a Smile,” has spent a ridiculous 177 days at #1 on the Spot’s global chart. In the wake of her desert performance, meanwhile, MAYHEM breakout “Abracadabra” has moved into the Top 20 (+5), while three classic tracks—“Poker Face,” “Bad Romance” and “Just Dance”—have all hit new peaks, the last two jumping 34 and 30 points, respectively. “Judas,” from 2011’s Born This Way, just debuted on the global Top 200.
Gaga’s exquisitely orchestrated, visually sumptuous set, which naturally highlighted the songs and imagery of her latest album, was nonetheless studded with hits from throughout her career. The Little Monsters went bananas, and fans across the planet who saw the dazzling production on the livestream—many of whom weren’t alive when “Poker Face” was dealt in 2008—are reacting in a big way. The proof was in the proverbial pudding when the chart was updated on that most crucial of days, Tuesday (4/15).
