'Lady Gaga domina a música por 15 anos e agora domina Hollywood também, algo que cantoras não conseguem'

Having dominated the music industry for almost 15 years, Lady Gaga is keeping the media in a pop-culture chokehold with yet another block-buster predicted movie.

Confirming the news on social media yesterday, Gaga will act opposite Joaquin Phoenix in Joker: Folie à Deux - the highly-anticipated follow up to 2019’s Joker.

Known for her insanely catchy music, eccentric fashion choices, and incredibly dramatic live performances, the American singer-songwriter has successfully transitioned into the Hollywood world, with her roles in A Star Is Born and House of Gucci receiving astonishing critical acclaim.

Yet to reveal the role she’ll be taking on in this upcoming instalment of the Batman villain’s story, the actress did confirm the release date for the film. Marking exactly five years since the release of the original movie, Joker: Folie à Deux will appear on screens on October 4, 2024.

Fans expect Gaga to take on the iconic Harley Quinn, the Joker’s love interest first created for “Batman: The Animated Series” in the early 1990s, but this has yet to be confirmed. The character was made famous by Margot Robbie in the Suicide Squad film series, and voiced by Kaley Cuoco in the popular HBO Max animated series ‘Harley Quinn’, which is now in its third season.

As proven difficult by other singers, Gaga has made the transition to the big screen look exceptionally easy - with Academy Award nominations and a host of critics award wins already on her silver screen résumé. It’s plausible that Joker: Folie à Deux might be the film that finally secures the ‘Poker Face’ singer the highly-coveted Oscar for best actress.

Little is known regarding the full details of Joker: Folie à Deux at the moment, aside from the film being a musical supposedly set in and around Arkham Asylum.

The film’s subtitle - Folie à Deux - plays on the psychological aspect of the Joker world as well as the musical element. The term refers not only to a literal dance but to the mental disorder affecting two or more closely-related individuals, often in the same family.

Given the question of the Joker’s true parentage, it’s entirely within the realm of possibility that the character’s vigilante nemesis, Batman, could make an appearance in the forthcoming sequel. With an over two year wait ahead, there’s plenty of time for fan theories and questioning ahead.

With Joaquin Phoenix taking home the Oscar for best actor for his role in the 2019 original instalment, it would be a surprise if adding Gaga to the mix doesn’t earn the film major awards with its sequel.

Madonna fez um filme só, amore, e com 51 anos estava tendo mais um auge na carreira onde só se falava dela. Gaga pós BTW virou coadjuvante na música.
