M.I.A. has shared the new single “The One,” produced by Rex Kudo and T-Minus. The musician has also revealed the title of her next album: MATA . The follow-up to AIM will arrive via Island Record, with which M.I.A. has signed a new global record deal. The album does not currently have a release date. In an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, M.I.A. said she “was in a really happy place” when she made “The One.” She also said that MATA “has two sides to it.” M.I.A.

The musician also revealed in an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1 that she is now a born-again Christian

“Being a Tamil and being a Hindu, I was very comfortable that I’d arrived finding myself. Which is, I think, going to be weird for America to process. But I had a vision and I saw the vision of Jesus Christ.”
