Difficult pass for Harry Styles: his world tour begins in two weeks and yet, none of his concerts in London and Amsterdam are sold out. Worse, thousands of tickets are still available for each date…
Harry Styles would his eyes have been bigger than his stomach? For his new tour “Together Together”, the English popstar focused on a system of residences in New York, Mexico, Melbourne, Sydney and Sao Paulo. In Europe, the singer chose the Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam and the Wembley Stadium in London for his only visits to the Old Continent. His French fans therefore have no choice but to go to the Dutch and English capitals to applaud him.
The problem? His tour is supposed to start on May 16 in Amsterdam, in two weeks, except that no European date is full. Worse, by taking a look at Ticketmaster, we can see that there are thousands of places on sale for each evening, whether in the stands or in the pit! Ditto on the Ticketswap resale site, where more than a hundred tickets are available for each Dutch date. A real surprise for one of the most popular stars of her generation. Especially since several million people tried to obtain tickets when they went on sale. The former One Direction would he have thought too big or is he paying the costs of a very discreet promotion?
Indeed, his latest album “Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally.”, with electro influences, did not have the same success as its predecessors and Harry Styles did not make many TV appearances to defend it.
“This is what happens when you set these prices”
On social networks, many spectators point to the high ticket prices as well as the cost of living which is quite expensive in Amsterdam or London to justify these timid sales. “This is what happens when you only visit two cities in Europe, set these prices and don’t do promo” summarizes a fan on X. Indeed, when tickets went on sale, many were amazed by the prices charged by the artist. In both European cities, a ticket in one of the different pits is sold between 141 and 321 euros. In New York, some tickets were offered for over $1,000! In addition, Harry Styles used the very controversial “dynamic tariff”, changing prices according to supply and demand… which is ultimately not that high. A few days before the shows, many tickets are offered from 88 euros in Amsterdam and 101 euros in London.
Consolation prize for Harry Styles? Most of his concerts in New York, Mexico, Sydney and Sao Paulo are full. In all, the interpreter of “As It Was” has planned 67 concerts across the globe. He will be accompanied by several renowned artists in the opening act: Shania Twain, Robyn, Jorja Smith, Jamie xx and the sensation group Fcukers.
